what do you guys think is the best set up on a lsx block to reach a street legal 800-900 horses w/out chargers
im going to use individual blowees by kinsler, infact they are making a custom fuel injection set up.we think that the engne in the bumblebee in transformers was a lsx, or modified 572. 800 rear hors would be nice. going with either costom mid mount, rear wheel drive or front mount front whell drive.want something to beat out a 2010 corvette wth650 hp.
800-900 N/A horses from an LSx engine isn’t going to be anywhere near street i.e. emissions legal. You are looking at way over 100hp/L – on a two-valve engine with fixed cam timing you are going to have to run a brutal cam that will kill any catalytic converter in no time. If this power is even possible given the relatively low revs available on a pushrod engine, it’s not going to pass emissions.
Does it have to be an LSx though? A friend has a Scott Shafiroff-built fuel injected all-aluminum big block ‘540 that puts out 720 with manageable street manners. Of course, it was brutally expensive to build and needs a rebuild after each season, and nowhere near street legal.
